Xbox launches transparent controller for 20th anniversary

The Xbox brand is 20 years old this year, and for anyone feeling old after reading this, the pain can be eased with a special controller marking the occasion. To celebrate 20 years of Xbox, Microsoft is launching a special 20th anniversary wireless Xbox controller, along with a matching stereo headset. Usually these controllers aren’t anything special, but Microsoft decided to treat Xbox fans by giving both devices a transparent finish.

Inspired by our past, designed for your present.

According to an article on Xbox Wire, both products will be available on November 15, the same day the original Xbox was released 20 years ago. The 20th Anniversary Special Edition Xbox Wireless Controller will retail for $ 70, and while that price indicates that it comes with special features, it doesn’t. Anything but visually, it’s a standard Xbox wireless controller. Her body is transparent with a black finish, providing a retro-style view of her innards. With Xbox green grips and a small Xbox 20th Anniversary logo on the lower right of the body, the controller definitely has a unique look.

As an added bonus, anyone who purchases a 20th Anniversary Xbox Wireless Controller will unlock a dynamic theme for their Xbox Series X / S as soon as they connect.

While the Xbox’s 20th anniversary headset isn’t fully transparent, Microsoft has still managed to work a bit in this style. The headset itself also features the Xbox green and black colors, but the plastic rims on the outside of each ear cup are translucent in keeping with the theme. Like the controller, the 20th Anniversary Xbox Headset doesn’t have any additional bells and whistles and will cost $ 70.
