Paramount+ is more than just a streaming site for every new star trek series. However, there are many star trek on the horizon for fans to enjoy, and Paramount+ is wasting no time lining up even more for years to come. The streaming service has been officially renewed Star Trek: Discovery, Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, and Star Trek: Lower Decks for the new seasons.
The flagship series, Star Trek: Discovery, is currently on a mid-season break. The fourth season of Discovery will resume on Thursday, February 10. With renewal in hand, DiscoveryFilming for the fifth season will likely begin later this year.
Paramount+ also announced that Star Trek: Picard season 2 will air on Thursday, March 3. This series has already been renewed and is in the middle of its third season of filming before a recent COVID outbreak forced the set to shut down. Production is expected to resume in the near future.

Following the season finale of picard, a new series, Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, will premiere on Thursday, May 5. Discovery season 2, this series will follow the adventures of young Spock on the Enterprise under the direction of his first commander, Captain Pike. This series will also be different from Discovery adopting self-contained episodes that take the crew to new destinations each week. Today’s announcement secures a second season for the show.
The animated series Star Trek: Lower Decks already had a 10-episode third season set to go this summer. But as noted above, the Paramount+ renewal means a 10-episode fourth season will likely follow in 2023.
“Four years ago, we promised to make Star Trek something it had never been before, and thanks to the incredibly hard work of our many talented showrunners, writers and directors, and the extraordinary support of CBS Studios and Paramount+, we keep our word,” said star trek executive producer Alex Kurtzman in a statement. “Now our current shows are prepared for the future as we work to build Trekthe next phase of programming for the years to come.
Left out of the announcement was the potential Section 31 spin-off series featuring Michelle Yeoh’s Empress Philippa Georgiou. This show has not yet received an official revival.
