Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 images just leaked – and the Ultra has a notch

Samsung’s Galaxy Tab S8 line of tablets are slated to launch early next year, but it looks like we won’t have to wait until then to see what they look like. Three recently leaked images offer potential glimpses of the Samsung Galaxy Tab S8, Galaxy Tab S8 Plus, and Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra.

The images of the devices mostly correspond to previous iterations like the, but the Ultra has something that users may be confused about – an iPhone-like notch.

The images in question reach us via the famous leaker Evan Blass (who passes by @evleaks on Twitter) and look like the allegedly leaked images we saw in October of this year. The Galaxy Tab S8 and Tab S8 Plus are not that different from the Galaxy Tab S7 and S7 Plus. The Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra, however, stands out with its notched screen.

As we reported earlier, the Galaxy Tab S8 is expected to offer an 11-inch 120Hz LCD display while the Plus model will feature a 12.4-inch 120Hz AMOLED panel. The fingerprint sensor should be the same. to that of the Galaxy Tab S7 and should again be located in the power button on the top edge. The Ultra is expected to be larger, sporting a 14.6-inch OLED display with the aforementioned notch.

We do not yet know what the processing capabilities of the tablets will be. A named YouTube channel The Galox may have leaked the Galaxy Tab S8 specs in January. If this information is true (and we suggest you take it with a fair amount of skepticism), then the Galaxy Tab S8 will be powered by the Snapdragon 888 chipset and offer 8 GB of RAM in the standard model and 12 GB of RAM in the Plus variant.

The Galaxy Tab S7 was powered by Qualcomm’s comparatively weaker Snapdragon 865 Plus, so the new Snapdragon 888 would offer a suitable upgrade that boosts the raw power of the Galaxy Tab S8. According to the same leak, the storage options are expected to range from 128GB to 512GB.

While we cannot guarantee the tablet’s disclosed specifications, we believe Evan Blass’s images are authentic given his solid reputation. The fact that his images are virtually identical to the renderings provided to 91mobiles by another famous leaker, Steve Hemmerstoffer, lends additional credibility to the legitimacy of Blass’s images.

It will be interesting to see what Galaxy Tab users do with the Ultra model’s notch screen if it appears in reality. Considering the division of this design choice into Apple phones and 14in MacBook Pro and 16in MacBook Pro laptops, it’s safe to say we’ll see a similar talk within the Galaxy Tab community.

CES 2022 is only a few weeks away, so we hope to have official news on the Galaxy Tab S8 line at that time. For now, be sure to check out our Galaxy Tab S8 Hub for all the news and leaks we’ve gathered on Samsung’s upcoming tablets.
