Peacock TV is flying high with exclusives like The Office and Harry Potter films. The streamer has had a ton of coverage from the Olympics as well, and while that event is over, he has placed a big bet on the sport in general as the hotbed of Premier League and WWE matches on Peacock.

Peacock may be relatively new to the streaming landscape, but he has a lot to offer. We’ve looked at Peacock from every angle, including shows available to watch now and upcoming, as well as the quality of his originals (check out Girls5eva). Oh, and don’t think Peacock is just NBC and Universal – he also has licensed movies and shows.

Peacock TV cost and pricing information, availability
Currently, Peacock is only available in the US, but that is changing soon. During a July 2021 earnings call, Comcast CEO Brian Roberts told investors and the press that Peacock will arrive, via Sky, in 20 million homes in the UK and Europe. It should arrive in the next few months.
Times are tough and our pockets are tightening, so it’s good that Peacock TV is starting for free and progressing to a premium service.
Free peacock, the level of free and ad-supported streaming, is home to 7,500 hours of programming. This includes next day access to current seasons of the freshman TV series; select episodes from peacock originals and tent-pole series; complete classic series; popular films; daily news and sports programs such as the Olympics; and content in Spanish. Peacock’s free streaming service will also feature genre channels such as “SNL Vault”, Family Movie Night “and” Olympic Profiles “.
Peacock Premium is $ 4.99 per month if you don’t have Comcast and those subscribers will pay $ 9.99 per month to get Peacock Premium Plus without more ads. Those with a Comcast subscription get Peacock Premium for free.
Oh and about the $ 9.99 per month Peacock Premium Plus. This removes “most” of the ads, but Peacock Premium Plus is not completely ad-free. According to the fine print, it still airs commercials in “a small amount of programming” which includes Peacock channels, events, and a few shows and movies.
Both premium levels will have access to 15,000 hours of programming, including streaming of all shows that air the following day; the whole series of The Office; full seasons of originals like Mindy Kaling’s Expecting and Sam Esmail’s Battlestar Galactica reboot; Early airing of NBC’s late-night programming. Live sports (like the return of Premier League football) and the Olympics are on both levels.

Original Peacock TV Series and Shows
The Peacock originals are led by reboots from Saved By the Bell and Punky Brewster. Both feature actors from the original series as well as stars of the new generation.
Originals that debuted with the launch of Peacock include the adaptation of A Brave New World; and the plot thriller The Capture; and the British comedy Intelligence, with David Schwimmer (Friends). Classic Peacock TV Series and Movies
Much like Disney Plus, Peacock’s biggest guns (for now) can be found in his safe. Peacock offers a ton of titles from the library of NBC and its sister networks. This includes beloved sitcoms like Parks and Recreation and 30 Rock, as well as Saturday Night Live and Cheers. There are also many older programs to go retro, including The Johnny Carson Show, The Carol Burnett Show, and The Greatest American Hero.
In early 2021, Peacock also added the entire series to The Office. The first two seasons are available to Peacock Free users, but you will need to pay for Premium or Premium Plus to watch all seasons as well as bonus content.
You also get a ton of Law & Order shows in a solid mix of dramatic programming that includes Friday Night Lights, House, and Battlestar Galactica (the original, not the upcoming series). Also Parenthood and Monk, as well as other older shows such as Murder She Wrote, Columbo, and The Rockford Files.
Reality TV is gaining space on Peacock, bringing The Real Housewives of Dallas, Bethenny Ever After, Kourtney & Kim Take New York, Very Cavallari and WAGS (and many more) to the streaming service.
Obsessed with real crime? Peacock has forensic records, unsolved mysteries, Aaron Hernandez uncovered, the Caylee Anthony case, Dahmer on Dahmer: A Serial Killer Speaks, The Disappearance of Natalee Holloway and many more.
And then there are the movies. You have blockbusters including the entire Harry Potter movie franchise, action movies like the John Wick movies, dramas like Children of Men, romances like Fifty Shades of Gray, and comedies like The Nutty Professor.
Lots of children’s content too: Peacock will feature new exclusive episodes of Curious George, Where’s Waldo? and Cleopatra in Space, as well as library shows including Woody Woodpecker, Top Chef Jr., New Adventures of He-Man
The big bad news: You might think of Friends as an NBC show, but it’s on HBO Max.
What’s up with this? Oh, and Peacock also misses Seinfeld, which is currently on Hulu. His absence is quite puzzling.
Peacock TV talk shows
Unlike Netflix, HBO Max, and Hulu, Peacock will have nightly talk shows, with access to The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and Late Night with Seth Myers.
Oh, and Peacock will have his own late-night talk shows, which aren’t just NBC mics. These series will include the Amber Ruffin Show, featuring the titular writer and performer known for her time on Detroiters and Drunk History. There’s also an Untitled Larry Wilmore Show, which will see the former Daily Show correspondent focus on the 2020 election and the topics of the week.
And at some point, Peacock Premium subscribers will be able to watch The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon and Late Night with Seth Myers “three and a half hours earlier.
Sports programming from Peacock TV
Peacock tries to differentiate himself from the peloton by pushing hard on the sport. Not only will there be the Tokyo Olympics in 2021, but there will be full coverage of preparations for the 2022 Winter Games.
Peacock is now the exclusive live broadcast home of the PFT Live series with Mike Florio, which turns the Profootballtalk.com site into a sports talk show. Chris Simms, Peter King and Rodney Harrison stayed.
The streamer also has exclusive rights to WWE.
During the 2020-21 season, Peacock Premium will be the exclusive home (in the US) for more than 175 Premier League games.
Reviews of Peacock TV
In our Peacock review, we noted that Peacock is great for watching classic TV, and we were delighted with how Xfinity customers get Peacock Premium for free. That being said, the lack of originals and a sparse “trending” section made it feel a bit hollow.
At CNET, they praised the service for its free level, with fewer ads than Hulu, and its inclusion of news and late-night shows (two things other streaming services don’t offer). Overall, however, CNET was negative about the service due to the lack of originals and the fact that its back catalog lacked many seasons of some key shows, such as Saturday Night Live and Law and Order.
The Decider folks say “It’s okay” for Peacock, but “there’s a lot, numerous miles to go ”(underline). The decision maker has also joined the chorus who say he “will probably never use trends”,
Peacock TV commercials
NBC is quite confident in its ad-supported approach, as the number of ads is low, with only five minutes per hour at most. Yes we all like to jump fast in commercials to get on TV, if said TV is free, the success of Pluto TV shows that NBC is on to something here.
