Nvidia has removed the covers from a trio of high-end Ampere-based GeForce graphics cards. And if you want the best from the graphics giant, then you’ll need the Nvidia GeForce RTX 3090.
From all the rumors surrounding the GeForce RTX 3000 series, we knew that a very powerful GPU was in the works. Previously called the GeForce RTX 3080 Ti, the RTX 3090 essentially replaces the RTX Titian, a monstrously powerful GPU that wasn’t really designed for gamers. But the Nvidia GeForce RTX 3090 is.
You will need to have very deep pockets and a very powerful PC to take advantage of the Nvidia GeForce RTX 3090. But if you have such a setup, you can expect PC gaming nirvana at high frame rates and to crazy resolutions.
Nvidia GeForce RTX 3090 price and pre-orders
Do you have a huge wad of cash burning a hole in your pocket? So good news, because you can do it all with the Nvidia GeForce RTX 3090. At $1,499 in the US and £1,399 in the UK, it’s Nvidia’s most expensive gaming-grade GPU yet.
The GeForce RTX 2080 Ti started at $999, but the RTX 3090 offers significantly more performance. And it’s 50% faster than the RTX Titan GPU it effectively replaces.
But to get the most out of such a graphics card, you’ll need a PC with components that can keep up with the Nvidia GeForce RTX 3090. It might also cost quite a bit. So, the GeForce RTX 3090 is definitely a graphics card for people who are willing to spend big bucks on a gaming machine.

Nvidia GeForce RTX 3090 release date
Mark September 24 in your calendar if you want a GeForce RTX 3090, because that’s when Nvidia will release this flagship GPU.
It’ll come hot on the heels of the Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 which will be released on September 17, giving you a few more days to save up the cash to buy what Nvidia calls a BFGPU – big, fierce GPU. That means you’ll be able to build a monstrous gaming PC almost two months before the PS5 and Xbox Series X release; something PC gamers can gloat over their console compatriots.

If you thought the price of the Nvidia GeForce RTX 3090 was ridiculous, don’t worry, it has the specs to prove it.
The GPU comes with 24 GB of GDDR6X, has a 384-bit memory interface and a memory speed of 19.5 Gbps. Nvidia hasn’t officially revealed the memory bandwidth, but we wouldn’t be surprised to see it push close to 1TB/s. The GeForce RTX 3090 also sports 10,496 CUDA cores and will run at an accelerated clock speed of 1,700 MHz.
And with the Ampere architecture promising more performance and efficiency, it’s no surprise that the GeForce RTX 3090 will destroy previous GeForce RTX 2000-series graphics cards as well as the RTX Titan.
In real terms, that means it can run games at 8K and 60fps, which is frankly ridiculous; few people have an 8K screen. And with second-generation ray-tracing cores and third-generation Tensor cores, the RTX 3090 promises a huge boost in ray-tracing performance and will provide second-generation deep learning upsampling (DLSS) to help reduce impact on ray tracing performance. on games running in high resolution.
Thanks to the Ampere architecture, all new GeForce RTX graphics cards can deliver up to twice the ray tracing performance of the Turing-based GeForce RTX 2000 series.
Outside of gaming, the GeForce RTX 3090 should be a boon for people who create video and work with digital assets, effects, and high-fidelity rendering techniques.
The Nvidia GeForce RTX 3090 is nothing less than a monster graphics card. It’s also quite monstrous in size and comes with a dual-axis, three-slot, through-flow design that effectively equips the graphics card with its own silencer. This means it can deliver all the promised performance up to 30 degrees Celsius cooler than the RTX TItan and up to 10 times quieter. Don’t expect to fit the RTX 3080 into a compact PC case.
Nvidia GeForce RTX 3090 Outlook
You probably have to be a serious PC gamer or dedicated game streamer to be willing to part with $1,499 for the Nvidia GeForce RTX 3090. But if you want the best in GPU tech, then Nvidia has you covered with the RTX 3090.
Given its price and specs, we’re not sure the GeForce RTX 3090 will have many rivals, AMD BIg Navi, a so-called “Nvidia-killer” expected to take on the GeForce RTX 2080 Ti. But the RTX 3090 seems to have moved the goalposts so far that AMD will likely struggle to compete with it at this super high-end level.
With the GeForce RTX 3090, Nvidia has created an ambitious graphics card for gamers and digital content creators to covet. That’ll be out of reach for many, but the new GeForce line has more graphics cards and likely more on the way as 2021 approaches.
But for now, it looks like Nvidia has a graphics card that is the culmination of its 21 years of working on graphics for the gaming world.
