Lenovo Yoga Duet 7 review: A “tabtop” with detachable keyboard

The Yoga Duet 7 can be used as both a tablet and a laptop. It’s lightweight, has a bright screen, comes with a built-in kickstand, and is ready to go wherever you want. The body of the Duet 7 is basically a magnesium alloy and has a really nice feel. The slate gray color gives the device a professional look and a premium feel.

The tabtop, as I like to call this category, is also very well specified. An Intel Core i5 processor, 8 GB of RAM and a 512 GB SSD power this little beast. The operating system is Windows 10 Home and is expected to upgrade to Windows 11. The machine handles all routine productivity tasks quite well and is very convenient for video calls. The front and rear cameras are both 5 megapixels, with the front camera being fixed-focus IR which also works with Windows Hello for connections and the rear camera with autofocus.

The display is a 13-inch 2K touchscreen that’s bright enough for indoor and outdoor use. The display supports Dolby Audio and the speakers support Dolby Audio, making the device ideal not only for work, but also for gaming.

A removable keyboard and pen are included in the package. The keyboard can be attached to the tablet or can be connected via Bluetooth. The pen has a very interesting function to capture the colors of real objects and use them in your designs.

As a tablet, it seems a bit heavy, but actually weighs just under 800 grams. The keyboard weighs in at around an additional 300 grams, so using it as a laptop and carrying it weighs a little over a kilogram, which is quite light. Lenovo actually compares it to the weight of a water bottle.

In terms of real-world performance, the laptop held its own with tasks like navigating with dozens of tabs open, Zoom and Teams calls, and most apps with documents and spreadsheets. average height. Probably not suitable for video editing, but for notes, drawing and scribbling it was excellent.

The battery lasts around 8 hours and the charger calls out for a quick charge so you’ll never run out of juice in a day’s work.

All in all, a very well balanced machine that will surely compete with the Windows Surface Pro since it looks like its sibling.

Advantages: Lightweight and elegant, Double identity, Ideal for drawing and notes

Cons: RAM could be more, keyboard doesn’t tilt, heavy as a tablet
