India could get a cheaper Poco M4 – here’s what we know

When Xiaomi offered another of its impressively good-value phones under the Poco brand, we knew it would keep the flag in place. And it turned out with the Poco M4 Pro 5G which had a large 6.6 inch display, a 90Hz refresh rate, a MediaTek Dimensity 810 chipset and a big 5000mAh battery with a 33W charge. .

The handset, which is a rebranded Redmi Note 11 5G, was first unveiled in China in the first half of November, before hitting European markets in the budget handset category. We have not heard any reports of the aircraft landing on Indian soil, and for good reason.

Because, Poco, owned by Xiaomi, is ready to launch a slightly watered-down version of this handset under the name of Poco M4, direct successor to the Poco M3 smartphone launched in February 2021. The handset came with a Snapdragon 662 chipset linked to 6 GB of RAM, a 48MP triple camera setup and an 8MP selfie shooter.

Reports that Xiaomi are preparing to launch the Poco M4 in India is due to a leak from tipster Mukul Sharma via MySmartPrice. According to the leaker, the Poco M4 will arrive in early February in Asian markets and possibly other geographies.

The Poco M4 could arrive with a similar screen ratio as the upgraded version and also with the same 90Hz refresh rate. Under the hood would be a MediaTek Dimensity chipset, details of which are still under wraps.

In terms of imaging, the Poco M4 might have a tri-camera setup, much like its predecessor. The camera module could include a 64 MP main shooter with an 8 MP sensor and a 2 MP lens.
