HTC Vive Flow VR headset leaks ahead of launch

HTC’s phone business has been a mystery for the past two years, but it looks like the brand’s PC VR (virtual reality) business could take a big step forward soon. A new leak shows marketing images of the HTC Vive Flow VR headset that have yet to be officially announced.

Images of the HTC Vive Flow VR headset, leaked by Evan Blass (@evleaks) on Twitter, reveal a helmet that, when worn, gives the appearance of a pair of large, insect-like eyes. The headset is similar in design to traditional eyewear in terms of the frame, and the two arms that will sit on a user’s ears can apparently be bent.

Other leaked images also suggest that the HTC Vive Flow will be able to connect to a smartphone as well as another tube-shaped device that could provide it with additional features, power, or both.

A previous report by Protocol had suggested that the Vive Flow would be a headset for media consumption and could have a small form factor. It would also have access to some casual games, although you wouldn’t find it bundled with handheld controllers.

The report also reveals that the chipset powering the HTC VR headset won’t be as powerful as that of the Oculus Quest 2, but the headset will support 6D Freedom tracking. The company has also reportedly developed a new service called Viveport Verse that will allow people to “explore the world beyond physical space”, “meet people from all over the world” and “explore a variety of events. , from virtual tourism and exhibitions to sporting events and festivals ”, as the company puts it on its staging site on Metaverse.

The leaks also point to a price of $ 499 (around Rs 37,608) for the helmet and suggest that it could be officially unveiled this Thursday.
