Google Pixel 6 Series Rumor Summary: Specs, Features, Accessories, and More

Google’s Pixel 6 series will officially launch on October 19. However, that hasn’t stopped the buzz around Google’s last two phones, and possibly some of the biggest ones in recent years as well. We now have more leaks around the phone series, as well as details on some of its expected new features as well as what appears to be an upgrade plan for Pixel series smartphone users. Read all about it below.

Google Pixel 6 Series: what to expect?

The Pixel 6 series, comprising Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro, saw a new leak that gave us the most in-depth review of smartphones yet to be released. Full promotional pages that cover all the new stuff in the Pixel 6 series have been revealed by tipster Evan Blass, better known as evleaks on Twitter.

The leaked pages were spotted by Evan Blass (@evleaks), and have now been removed. However, thanks to a few timely screenshots, we’re taking a look at what the pages have revealed about the Pixel 6 series.

Google claims in the leaked pages that the Pixel 6 Pro’s new Tensor processor will deliver 80% more performance compared to the Pixel 5, which was powered by the Snapdragon 765G. It also doubles the primary 50MP + 48MP + 12MP ultra-wide camera setup on the phone. The new Pixel phones will be the first in the series to feature high-resolution camera sensors. The company also claims 150% more light capture and 4x optical and 20x “Super Res Zoom”.

The Pixel 6 series will also support 30W charging, but the 30W charger can be sold separately. A 6.7-inch LTPO panel on the Pixel 6 Pro will offer dynamic refresh rate switching between 10Hz and 120Hz. There’s also Gorilla Glass Victus and IP68 protection mentioned.

Magic Eraser and other AI-powered photography tools

The Pixel 6 series will also feature AI-powered tools including a new Magic Eraser feature that will allow users to remove unwanted background from photos as well as a feature that can use AI to blur. as if by magic the faces that were not captured with sharpness.

Five years of Android security updates

As first spotted by Committed the tiny print on the leaked images also reads “Android security updates for at least five years from the date the device first became available on the Google Store in the United States.”

This suggests that phones could get security updates (not to be confused with Android updates) until 2026. Phones are expected to get the usual three years of Android updates, although more details at this topic should be available at the October 19 launch.

Pixel Pass – Google’s response to the iPhone upgrade program

Another leak highlighted by Mr. Brandon Lee (@thisistechtoday) also talks about the Pixel Pass upgrade program, something that has yet to be spotted in the leaks. Check out the tweet below.

The Pixel Pass subscription, according to the leak, could offer the latest update to the brand’s flagship phone every year for a recurring fee. In addition, the subscription could also bundle other Google subscriptions into one package. This includes YouTube Premium, Google One, and Play Pass.

New Pixel Stand Gen-2

Google is also expected to launch a new Pixel Stand Gen-2 which will include all the features of the Pixel stand and the ability to quickly charge the Pixel 6 series at 23W. The new booth was also disclosed by the same user. It would also have two charging points and a fan. Find out below.

Google is hosting its Pixel Fall launch event on October 19 at 10:00 a.m. PT (10:30 p.m. IST). More details on the new Pixel 6 phones, all subscriptions and accessories as well as availability in regions including India will be revealed at that time. Since the Pixel 5 has not reached the Indian market, Google could also continue on the same trajectory for 2021.
