Google Pixel 6 Pro leak reveals three upgrades iPhone 13 can’t match

The Google Pixel 6 leaks keep coming, and the latest ones suggest that the new Pixel will be a powerful phone for photography in particular.

As a huge leak of marketing material from Carphone Warehouse has revealed, along with older leaks, the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro both appear to have an arsenal full of photo tricks that will allow them to take some of the best smartphone photos of all time. In fact, some of the supposed features impressed us so much that we’re already worried about the fate of the iPhone 13, a phone that’s been around for a few weeks and probably didn’t expect such competition so soon.

We believe there are three main areas where the Pixel 6 could outperform the iPhone 13 series in photography. We’ve broken them down below.

High resolution main camera

Google and Apple were two of the only smartphone makers to stick with 12 MP main sensors, as cameras with resolutions of 48 MP and above have become the norm, but rumors have it that this is on the market. point to change.

The Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro are both expected to use a 50 MP main camera, which could allow them to take much more detailed images than even the iPhone 13 Pro Max is capable of capturing.

However, cameras aren’t just defined by their megapixels – sensor size, tuning, and post-processing all play a role in the overall quality of the final photo. Given that Google has already shown that it can take the best camera phones in the world with the older Pixel models, that bodes well for the Pixel 6 line. With a much more substantial new camera, these phones might just be the ones. better in the future.

More powerful zoom

Similarly, the Pixel 6 Pro would be equipped with a 48MP telephoto lens capable of 4x optical zoom and 20x “SuperRes” digital zoom. Although the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max have the highest magnification zoom ever offered on an iPhone, it is still only 3x optical and 15x digital.

There are phones with higher magnifications than Apple’s and Google’s offerings, like the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra (10x optical, 100x digital). Again, however, Google’s excellent photo processing system could mean the Pixel 6 Pro is able to beat other telephoto lenses in overall quality, even though the maximum zoom range is lower.

New photo editing tips

The built-in photo editors on phones are surprisingly powerful, but even the great system found on iPhones can’t help if you’re photobombed or your subject is moving too fast for the camera to focus on. However, Google has gotten answers to both of these with the Pixel 6, the leaks claim.

As the name suggests, Magic Eraser will apparently allow you to easily remove people or objects in the background to craft your perfect shot.

The other supposed feature, Face Unblur, will also do what it says on the tin – make blurry faces sharper, making it easier to take action photos.

You can actually do these things with any image from any phone if you open them in one of the best photo editing apps, but Google’s seeming promise that you can do it from your phone without even needing new software is even more appealing. This is another thing that the iOS photo editor cannot match at the moment.

We won’t have to wait long to find out for sure what the Google Pixel 6 is capable of, with a Google Pixel event now confirmed for October 19 at 10 a.m. PT / 1 p.m. ET. We’ll cover everything as we go, so be sure to stay tuned to TechToSee’s Guide for the latest news of the day.
