Google Chrome is bringing back some cool features to Android this week that would have come in handy a few weeks ago… before we all did our vacation shopping. Hey, better late than never!
The first big feature is price tracking through Chrome on Android. When viewing your tab grid, if you have a product open in one, Chrome will attempt to show you an updated price if it has fluctuated. You can see what it will look like below, so you can refresh that same page a few less times today.
The next big feature is the integration of Google Lens from the address bar. Chrome now allows you to tap the lens icon and then start searching with your camera, assuming you spot an item while you’re on the go that you want to buy and need it on. more information. This feature will also soon be available on the desktop, where a right click and then the option “Find images with Google Lens” will appear.
Another new feature coming to Chrome on Windows and Mac is shopping carts. Let’s say you were shopping online and added items to a cart, but then forgot what it was and where. You will now be able to open a new tab and scroll to the “Your baskets” card to see the sites where you had items in a basket. I imagine Google will have to partner with sites for this to work and they’ve already said that Zazzle, iHerb, Electronic Express, and Homesquare will even offer discounts if you use “Your Carts” to return and pay.
