We are only a few hours away from September 14 Apple event where the revelation of the iPhone 13. And last minute leaks happen quickly.
Evan Blass on his evleaks Twitter account has released a sequel to what are claimed to be iPhone 13 case renderings from third-party case maker Spigen, which give us another look at the size of the iPhone 13’s display notch.
Spigen already posted actual images of its iPhone 13 cases yesterday, apparently showing how the iPhone 13 will look quite similar to the iPhone 13. iPhone 12. But Blass’s leaked renders show the case in its entirety, revealing the front, back, and sides of the case and thus much of the alleged iPhone 13 design.
Expect a trio of cameras on the back in the same square module as the last two generations of iPhones. And the flat edges of the iPhone 12 should also stay on the iPhone 13, along with the placement of the volume, mute, and power buttons. MagSafe charging is also taken care of, which is hardly surprising.

But the biggest change seen in these renderings will be the smaller display notch. And damn it, it was about time.
Since the iPhone X, Apple has used a relatively large trapezoidal notch that eats away at a significant portion of the phone’s top screen. Of course, this allows it to contain all the sensors of the Face ID secure biometric system, but that’s not exactly appealing and by 2021 standards, where the best android phones have punch-hole selfie cameras, the current iPhone’s notch looks archaic.
Ideally, we would like Apple to get rid of the notch completely, but that doesn’t seem to happen until after the iPhone 14. A smaller notch will therefore have to help us out for the moment.
As for other upgrades, the iPhone 13 is expected to have a larger battery, the new A15 Bionic processor, and an improved 5G modem. An astrophotography function and a portrait mode for video capture are also expected, as well as an always-on display. But the most notable upgrades are apparently planned for the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max. These include 120Hz displays, ultra-wide camera upgrades, and better telephoto capabilities.
